Why Vote for Sean?

As we look to 2025, my commitment to Volente remains stronger than ever. Our village is built on the idea that we are not just residents—we are neighbors. It's time to remember that unity, sensibility, and ethical leadership are at the heart of what makes Volente special. That’s why I’m proud to run for Village Council under the banner of TEAM VOLENTE.  Working together, we will uphold our village’s mission statement of maintaining our unique rural character while fostering a sense of community and cooperation.

I have a proven record of commitment, collaboration, and being sensible.  My career along with my time as a unanimously appointed councilmember, a commissioner on the Planning and Zoning Committee, and as Vice Chair of the Public Safety Committee has equipped me with the experience to serve Volente thoughtfully and responsibly. The current council has navigated some challenging times together, and while progress has been made, our work is far from done. Now is the time to take sensible steps forward to preserve and improve our beloved village.

Our ordinances need to be updated, sensible, consistent, and understandable. Currently, many contradict each other, are outdated, or are difficult to follow. Some just simply don't make sense for our community and can't be enforced.  By refining and updating these ordinances, we ensure that they are easy to comply with, fair, and enforceable, aligning with today’s challenges and opportunities while maintaining the character of Volente.

I am not an advocate of heavy-handed governance. I believe in fair, consistent, and impartial enforcement of our ordinances. The role of government is to serve the people—not to police them in an overzealous manner. This means upholding our village’s standards without compromising the integrity and freedom that make Volente such a unique place to live.

"One thing I’ve come to appreciate from observing and working with Volente’s City Council, as well as hearing from past members, is how dedicated and passionate our council members and mayor are about our village. As we look toward the future, there’s a great opportunity to strengthen our foundation with updated ethics resolutions that reflect today’s needs. By minimizing conflicts of interest and setting clearer structures for reporting and business organization, we can make sure Volente’s leadership remains accountable, consistent, and focused on the best interests of every resident for generations to come. It’s about continually building on the hard work that’s already been done and ensuring that our council is always equipped to serve our community with integrity and effectiveness.

Our village administration is the backbone of local government, and supporting efficient, safe, and ethical operations is crucial. We need well-defined policies and procedures that ensure our government functions smoothly, provides quality services, and remains accountable to the community. My experience working with U.S. Congress, the FDA, and the CDC on regulatory development positions me well to lead these improvements with both practicality and foresight. We currently have 2.3 million dollars in the bank. Should we be using that to improve? 

Leadership Through Integrity, Unity, Transparency, Ethics and Sensible Governance

I stand for the values of Integrity, Respect, Selfless Service, Unity and Ethical and Sensible Leadership. These principles form the bedrock of my public service. Integrity is paramount—I believe in transparency, accountability, and ethics, which are essential to building trust within our community. To further this commitment, I will prioritize refreshing the village's ethics resolution to reduce conflicts of interest and provide clear guidelines for ethical decision-making, improving the overall effectiveness of our operations. By ensuring that our council operates with the highest ethical standards and makes decisions based on facts, reason, and fairness, we can promote a culture of trust and responsibility.

Unity is equally critical to Volente’s future. In a time of widespread division, we must not lose sight of the fact that we all share the common goal of protecting and preserving our village. I will work tirelessly to bridge gaps, foster collaboration, and ensure that every voice is heard. My leadership will focus on bringing more transparency to government operations and encouraging active community participation, ensuring that all residents are informed and included in the decision-making process. Together, we can create a sensible and ethical path forward for Volente, where unity, integrity, and transparency guide every action

Safety has always been and will continue to be one of my top priorities. As a former US Army Medic, Firefighter, and Safety Director, I have dedicated my life to keeping people safe. In my service to Volente, I will ensure that we prioritize public safety initiatives, supporting our emergency services and ensuring that our village remains a secure place for all families.

In 2025, it’s not just about individual leadership—it's about TEAM VOLENTE. My vision is centered on bringing people together, finding common ground, and working toward shared goals that benefit everyone. I base my decisions on facts, reason, and an open mind, always aiming to find the best solutions for our village. By encouraging constructive debate and evidence-based reasoning, I believe we can make informed, effective choices for Volente’s future.

I am running for Village Council not just as an individual, but as a dedicated neighbor. My pledge to you is a continued commitment to Integrity, Respect, Selfless Service, Sensibility and Unity.
